About the Department
Computer Engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with computer hardware, software fundamentals, and computer applications. It stands at the pinnacle of design and production and has numerous subfields.
The goal of İSTÜN Computer Engineering Department is to educate engineers who have received excellent education in computer systems, software, and hardware, who are experts in programming languages and basic programming techniques, who conduct research on the structure, design, development, and uses of computer systems, and who can address the current and future needs of the industry effectively.
Academic Opportunities
During the first two years of the educational program, students will primarily be taught basic engineering and fundamental computer courses. In the following two years, they will receive intensive courses related to computer engineering as well as technical elective courses. Our students’ research and application skills will be enhanced through modern educational tools, laboratory facilities, and the project courses they take.
Throughout their education, our students will graduate much more prepared for the industry thanks to the practical training they receive in addition to their theoretical training, which is designed considering the needs of the sector and industry, through our academic-industry collaborations.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the department will have the title of “Computer Engineer” and will have the opportunity to work in various fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, mobile app development, defense industry, cyber security, various software and IT firms, gaming industry, web development, blockchain technologies, autonomous vehicles, aerospace sector, media sector, banking, e-commerce, information centers of private and public institutions, and R&D centers. In addition, department graduates can continue their postgraduate and doctoral education and can also serve as academics in universities.
