Community Overview

İSTÜN Computer Engineering Community

We are the students, graduates, and members of the Computer Engineering Department, Istanbul Health and Technology University. The idea for this community was first envisioned by Dr. Nazlı Tokatlı, the founding head of our Computer Engineering Department, who inspired us to create a space for showcasing projects, sharing knowledge, and building connections. Established in 2021, our community has since grown steadily expanding both our project portfolio and our membership while staying true to that founding vision.

 

As the IEEE ISTUN Student Branch and ISTUN Entrepreneurship Club, we organized a seminar event on December 12, 2023, titled “What Makes an Entrepreneur?” In this enlightening session, we had the privilege of hosting Mr. Erdem Yurdanur, the visionary founder of Masomo, renowned for its popular games like Maçkolik and Kafa Topu.

During the seminar, Mr. Yurdanur graciously answered our questions, providing invaluable insights into the world of entrepreneurship. He delved into aspects that are often overlooked in discussions about the entrepreneurial ecosystem, shedding light on unconventional perspectives and sharing candid anecdotes from his own journey.

Mr. Yurdanur’s address not only highlighted the highs of entrepreneurial success but also candidly addressed the challenges and setbacks he encountered along the way. His willingness to discuss the less glamorous aspects of entrepreneurship resonated deeply with the audience, providing a refreshing and authentic portrayal of the entrepreneurial experience.

Furthermore, Mr. Yurdanur’s emphasis on the importance of perseverance, resilience, and innovation served as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs in the audience. His practical advice and strategic insights offered valuable guidance for navigating the complexities of the startup landscape.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Erdem Yurdanur for his invaluable contribution to our seminar event. His willingness to share his knowledge, experiences, and perspectives has undoubtedly enriched our understanding of what it truly means to be an entrepreneur.
