Community Overview

İSTÜN Computer Engineering Community

We are the students, graduates, and members of the Computer Engineering Department, Istanbul Health and Technology University. The idea for this community was first envisioned by Dr. Nazlı Tokatlı, the founding head of our Computer Engineering Department, who inspired us to create a space for showcasing projects, sharing knowledge, and building connections. Established in 2021, our community has since grown steadily expanding both our project portfolio and our membership while staying true to that founding vision.

On December 20. 2023. the IEEE ISTUN Student Branch and the ISTUN Entrepreneurship Club collaborated to host the event “Discover Artificial Intelligence, Embrace the Era.” We were honored to welcome esteemed guests Mr. Eren Bozarık and Mrs. Gurbet Alpay Salbacak, both software engineers from Erka Group, who enriched our event with their expertise and insights.

During the event, participants were immersed in the dynamic world of artificial intelligence as Mr. Bozarık and Mrs. Salbacak shared the latest innovations and emerging trends in the field. Their presentations captivated the audience. Offering glimpses into the future possibilities and potential applications of AI across various industries.

One particularly engaging topic discussed by Mrs. Salbacak was the significance of data warehouses in the realm of artificial intelligence. She provided an in-depth exploration of how data warehouses serve as crucial repositories for structured and unstructured data. Mrs. Salbacak’s insights shed light on the pivotal role of data infrastructure in powering AI algorithms and driving informed decision-making processes.

Throughout the event, participants had the opportunity to delve into discussions about the practical implementations of artificial intelligence, ranging from machine learning algorithms to neural networks. Case studies and real-world examples were shared. Illustrating how AI technologies are revolutionizing industries such as healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Eren Bozarık and Mrs. Gurbet Alpay Salbacak for their invaluable contributions to our event. Their expertise and passion for artificial intelligence left a lasting impression on all who attended, inspiring us to continue exploring the frontiers of AI and embracing its transformative potential.
