Community Overview

İSTÜN Computer Engineering Community

We are the students, graduates, and members of the Computer Engineering Department, Istanbul Health and Technology University. The idea for this community was first envisioned by Dr. Nazlı Tokatlı, the founding head of our Computer Engineering Department, who inspired us to create a space for showcasing projects, sharing knowledge, and building connections. Established in 2021, our community has since grown steadily expanding both our project portfolio and our membership while staying true to that founding vision.

We had the pleasure of hosting a captivating seminar on “New Space,” featuring the esteemed Professor Doctor Fuat İnce as our distinguished speaker. Prof. İnce covered a range of key topics, providing valuable insights into the contemporary space landscape.

During his presentation, Prof. İnce discussed the pressing issue of space debris and the need for global cooperation to address this challenge. He highlighted innovative solutions being developed worldwide to mitigate the risks associated with space debris, underscoring the importance of sustainability in space exploration.

Additionally, Prof. İnce explored the burgeoning field of space-startups and companies, showcasing the diverse range of ventures driving innovation in the sector. From space-tourism to satellite technologies, he illustrated how these entrepreneurial endeavors are reshaping our understanding of space and opening up new opportunities for exploration and commercialization.

Prof. İnce also touched upon the ongoing space initiatives in Turkey, emphasizing the country’s contributions to space research and technology. He highlighted the collaborative efforts aimed at bolstering Turkey’s presence in the global space community.

During the Q&A session, Prof. İnce addressed audience questions, providing expert insights into various aspects of space exploration and entrepreneurship. His thoughtful responses further enriched the discussion, deepening our understanding of the opportunities and challenges in the realm of “New Space.”
