İSTÜN Computer Engineering Community

We are the students, graduates, and members of the Computer Engineering Department, Istanbul Health and Technology University. The idea for this community was first envisioned by Dr. Nazlı Tokatlı, the founding head of our Computer Engineering Department, who inspired us to create a space for showcasing projects, sharing knowledge, and building connections. Established in 2021, our community has since grown steadily expanding both our project portfolio and our membership while staying true to that founding vision.

Project Overview

During the 2024-2025 academic year, Waste Classifier – Akıllı Atık Sınıflandırma Uygulaması was carried out as a student-led project within the Computer Engineering Department's social responsibility and mentorship work. The project highlights how students connect technical skills, field awareness, and community contribution around a concrete need.

Project Purpose

Waste Classifier aimed to classify recyclable waste with the help of software and image-processing practices, supporting environmental awareness through a technical sustainability solution.
