İSTÜN Computer Engineering Community

We are the students, graduates, and members of the Computer Engineering Department, Istanbul Health and Technology University. The idea for this community was first envisioned by Dr. Nazlı Tokatlı, the founding head of our Computer Engineering Department, who inspired us to create a space for showcasing projects, sharing knowledge, and building connections. Established in 2021, our community has since grown steadily expanding both our project portfolio and our membership while staying true to that founding vision.

The academic year of 2024-2025 began with a successful orientation session for new students at the Istanbul Health and Technology University’s Computer Engineering department.

The orientation was designed to familiarize incoming students with the university, the department, and the broader opportunities available within the field of computer engineering.

Introduction to the University

The session commenced with an introduction to Istanbul Health and Technology University.

The university is renowned for its emphasis on combining technological advancement with healthcare. It fosters an environment where innovation in both fields thrives.

The Computer Engineering department plays a crucial role in this vision. It offers students a solid foundation in software development, hardware systems, artificial intelligence, and more.

Career Prospects

One of the key discussions during the orientation was about the career prospects for computer engineering graduates.

Faculty members and senior students highlighted the diverse range of industries that require skilled engineers. These include healthcare technology, finance, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

With Istanbul being a hub for tech startups, students were encouraged to take advantage of the city’s thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. It could serve as a launchpad for their own innovations.

Project Discussions

A notable part of the orientation involved sharing project experiences among the students and faculty.

Senior students spoke about their past projects, including collaborations with healthcare professionals. These projects developed innovative software solutions and applications aimed at improving patient care.

Other projects involved working on artificial intelligence algorithms, mobile applications, and cloud-based services.

These discussions served to inspire the new students and motivate them to engage in project-based learning from the outset.

Our 2024-2025 orientation was conducted by the head of the Computer Engineering department, Dr. Nazlı Tokatlı.
